DISPENSARY SERVICE:
The organization also gives second most important priority to the health issue , it is because, the operational area very interior, no communication facilities and the people of this area are deprived of health facilities greately. The organization had run dispensary service from 2001 to 20014 where mother and child care was taken care of. This facility was provided to the people of 120 villages of 3 adjacent districts. The dispensary has a safe place for child-delivery. The health in-charge of the dispensary had more than 25 years of experiences in dealing mother and child health care and involved all kinds of services around the clock. It is heartening to note that the delivery cases are handled 100% successful. Besides child-delivery, general treatment was also extended for other health hazards such as malaria, T.B. jaundice and diarrhea etc. However due to death of the health in charge in the year 2014, the dispensary has stopped.
V4 SUB CENTRE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME:
The organization had implemented V4 Sub Centre Mangment Programme from 2014 to 2016 in two sub centers named Saramuli and Sonepur sub centre of Daringbadi block supported by Ministry of Family and Child welfare dept. under MHRM. The main objective of the programme is to reduce and minimizes the IMR and MMR. To achieve this purpose, the organization had conducted various activities such as maternal health activities, Home visit by Asha and ANM, Community mobilization, educative session, Referral support,, mentor support , health interface , etc. activities. The trained ANM are placed in each sub centers and two community facilitator who helped them in implementing the programme. The government grass root health workers such as Ashas, ANMS , Anganwadi workers , PHC or CHC staff helped in implementing the programme. The community especially the pregnant women, delivery mothers, children age of one year, adolescents girls, eligible couple are the direct beneficiaries of this programme. The programme had implemented with the cooperation of community based organizations such as SHGs, PRI members and GKS.The people were really got much benefit out of this programme.
SCEENING TO THE HOSTEL CHILDREN:
From 2012 to 2015 the organization conducted health screening programme with the cooperation and support of LOVE THE ONE, a U.K. based organization. Every year, two days health screening programme was conducted for all hostel children of SAHANUBHUTI. The team of 10 members with two doctors, one technical persons and 4 medical students from U.K. conducted the pogramme by staying in the hostel for at least one night. Thorough check up was made to each student under the age group of 16 and provided medicines to needy student freely. Also, they referred to the Berhampur city for better treatment to the serious sick children and at the same time they also supported them financially towards treatment. The pogramme was very much helpful as all children could got free check up and free medicines. The organization is really grateful for their cooperation and support for the treatment to all hostel children.
EYECAMP:
The organization had organized eye camp from 2009 to 2012 in collaboration of Eco Eye hospital, Behrmapur, Ganjam,Odisha.The people of our operational villages are mostly affected with eye problems due to lack of nutritious food. Looking to the need of this, the organization had conducted eye camp two times in every year. The programme covered 60 villages. Every year , five hundred to six hundred people have got free eye check up and received medicine freely. Around three hundred most affected eye patients were taken to Berhampur medical and got eye operation freely. It was a great benefit for the poor people of the area, as getting this type of treatment is very rare in the area.
HEALTH CENTRE:
Looking to the need of the people of the area, a 12 bedded hospital has been constructed at Bamunigoan of Kandhamal district by the organization. The main motto of the health centre is to provide health service round the clock to the people of the area. The health centre is consisting of health check up room, doctor’s rest room, laboratory room, and operation room, medicine distribution room, and baby ward, male and female ward with toilets. The basic medical instruments and medicines are available in the
Health centre in order to provide better service to the people of the area. We are looking for a generous supporter to run the centre , and hope soon will find to help the people of our area. centre .
